On December 9, 2016, at the M-1 Challenge 73 Battle of Narts tournament, M-1 Global, just like at the beginning of the year, gave mixed martial arts fans one of the most anticipated fights in Russian mixed martial arts. This time, Anatoly Tokov (Alexander Nevsky OEMK), 24-1, fought against Ramazan Emeev (Gorets), 14-3. At the time, Anatoly Tokov's winning streak totaled 17 fights in a row. He held the Russian Army Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship, won the second season of the M-1 Fighter reality show, and also the ACB Championship, which he earned in several challenging fights. He also has 14 knockout victories, and his success in the epic battle against Arbi Aguev propelled Anatoly to 35th place in the international Fightmatrix rankings, officially making him the third-ranked Russian middleweight. He faced the organization's current middleweight champion, Ramazan Emeev, who at the time held 14 wins in 17 fights, the Russian MMA title, and the world combat sambo title. Like Anatoly, Ramazan possesses a powerful knockout punch, which has repeatedly earned him victories against the most serious opponents, and he is also very skilled in both standing and ground fighting. His victory against Bellator Grand Prix winner Maikel Falcao propelled Ramazan into the top 20 of the world rankings in his weight class – he held the 19th spot, just two spots behind the legendary Alexander Shlemenko.
